Activities
Port Operations
Two ports are an option for Burkina Faso;  Abidjan in Cote d’Ivoire – goods are then transported via rail to the two main cities in Burkina Faso, Bobo Dioulasso and Ouagadougou and Lome port in Togo.  However, due to political insecurity and high port costs, most of the cargo destined for Burkina Faso enters the country by road.

Surface Transport
Most cargo enters Burkina Faso by road. The distance from Tema Port in Accra, Ghana, to Ougadougou is 1,135 km of mostly tarmac road and from Lome, Togo, to Ougadougou is 1,269 km of mostly tarmac road.
Internally, 6 main road axes link Burkina Faso to all its neighbouring countries. Aside from these mostly tarmac roads, the network is very poor and access is further complicated during the rainy season.

Rail
There is a 1,260 km railway the runs from the Abidjan port in Cote d’Ivoire all the way to the 2 main cities of Burkina Faso (Bobo Dioulasso and Ouagadougou).

Aviation
There are currently no aviation services in Burkina Faso.
