The food supplies for all projects are covered through local purchase, regional purchase and international purchase.
The Local and Regional purchase are done for the EMOP, PRRO & CP ACT2 and all the times on DDU terms directly to the EDPs. WFP Ghana only facilitates the customs clearance approval from the Government.
For PRRO & EMOP International purchases WFP Ghana CO process the customs approval and the WFP contracted clearing and forwarding agent clear and transport the food either directly to the EDPs or WFP warehouse at Tema Port depending on space availability. For CP ACT 1 shipments are cleared under supervision of WFP CO by C&F agent appointed by the Government who take over the food at the Port for onward transport and distribution to beneficiaries.
All shipments are surveyed by WFP appointed superintendent at the time of delivery.
The office has one sub office in Tamale and two field offices at Bolgatanga and WA in Northern Ghana.
